Who we are

Mountain Women Vote came together with a simple goal in mind: create opportunities to be engaged politically and advocate for our values.

What do we value?

The health of our families, our communities and the nature that sustains us. All three are critical to thriving in the mountains.

How do we protect these values?

By promoting human health and environmental sustainability. This requires meeting the basic human needs of clean air, potable water, nourishing food, safe shelter, dignity and purpose through:

  • HEALTH CARE: Ensuring access to health services, including medical care such as abortion

  • EDUCATION: Providing education from pre-K to college readiness or trade school after high school

  • ENVIRONMENT: Building awareness of and protecting vulnerable species and ecosystems, innovating in the area of climate adaptation, and preparing for climate-driven changes to human and animal migration

  • COMMUNITY SERVICE: Supporting key local, state and federal programs through tax dollars and individual labor (employed, volunteer and service hours)

  • ACCESS TO ARMS: Using reasonable and appropriate arms for hunting, sport and personal security, and allowing access to military-style weapons only at professional training sites

  • COMPASSION: Allowing individuals to live and love in the way that feels comfortable to them…because we have many important problems we’re facing, and love is not one of them
